Privacy policy

The short version: this site collects almost nothing, and never sells or shares anything. Effective July 26, 2026.

Who I am

This is the personal portfolio of Timothy Serem, an Android engineer based in Nairobi, Kenya. For anything privacy-related, email [email protected].

The contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, the name, email address, and message you enter are transmitted by Web3Forms (a form-delivery service) and arrive in my email inbox. Web3Forms processes the submission in transit; see the Web3Forms privacy policy for how they handle it.

I use what you send solely to reply to you. It is never sold, shared, or added to any mailing list. If you'd like our correspondence deleted, email me and I'll remove it.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any host, Cloudflare sees visitor IP addresses and keeps short-lived operational logs to serve the site and mitigate abuse (see the Cloudflare privacy policy). I don't access or store those logs.

Analytics

If you allow analytics in the cookie preferences, this site uses my self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance to collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics. It records the page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location, active time on each page, maximum scroll depth, and interactions such as contact CTA clicks, résumé downloads, and contact-form progress. Articles are identified by their public page path and title so their engagement can be compared. Form analytics records only stage names and completion counts — never your name, email address, message, or any other field value. Plausible processes the request IP address and User-Agent to generate a daily identifier, but does not store the raw values or create a persistent identifier. It sets no analytics cookies or local storage (see the Plausible data policy). Analytics events are sent to my self-hosted instance rather than Plausible's hosted service. If you decline or revoke analytics consent, the site sends no further analytics events.

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act (2019) — and the GDPR if you're in the EU/EEA — you can ask what personal data I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. In practice the only personal data I hold is email correspondence you've sent me. Email [email protected] and I'll sort it out.
